Black Belt 5th Degree

He started training Jiu Jitsu in his early teens (1994) at Romero “Jacaré” Cavalcanti academy, though his introduction class was given by Leonardo Vieira (who was a purple belt at the time). In December 2004 Chico Mendes was awarded his black belt by Vieira.

He spread the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu art around the world: England, Spain, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Turkey, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, Venezuela and many other countries.

Evan Kincade

Black Belt 1st Degree

Evan Kincade started training in February 2010 under Jeremy Barden, an RJJA purple belt at the time.

Then moved to Virginia Sept 2011 and began training under Professor Alan Merullo (RJJA Black Belt). Received his blue belt in August 2012. He was an assistant kids instructor for two years before becoming the program leader. Then Feb. 2016 he was promoted to purple belt by Professor Merullo.

In May 2016 he moved to Florida and began training with Gulf Breeze Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He started working with the Checkmat Kids program in 2017.

In September 2018, he was promoted to brown belt by Professor Chico Mendes and Professor Janilson Bie. In December of 2020, he was promoted to black belt.

Janilson Bie

Black Belt 2nd Degree

Janilson "Bie" was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by Professor Paulo Mushu, from Charlotte, NC where he began training in 2010.

Bie’s passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has earned him a Black Belt, and taken him across the country to compete in various tournaments such as Worlds Master, Pan Ams, Naga and much more.

Bie has achieved multiple victories in IBJJF and Naga. His competitive spirit and drive ranked him to a 2017 silver medalist on IBJJF World Master Championship.

Bie is the proud founder and owner of Checkmat Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Gulf Breeze – Florida.

Abraão Amorim

Black Belt 4th Degree

Abraão Amorim Magalhães is a Brazilian martial artist, professional fighter, and instructor with decades of experience in combat sports. He began his athletic journey at age 8 through futsal and later trained in capoeira, developing agility, rhythm, and body control.

In 2003, he started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, building a strong foundation in grappling and competition. He later added Judo in 2010, refining his takedowns and balance. By 2014, he transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts, combining striking and grappling into a complete fighting system.

Today, Abraão is dedicated to both competing and teaching, helping students develop technical skill, discipline, confidence, and personal growth through martial arts.
